New York City was one of those places where I knew I was going to take a lot of pics and videos (not as many as Whale watching though LOL). And of course the Statue of Liberty was first. Because apparently one boat wasn’t enough for this vacation adventure. We had to take another boat. Stressie Luck strikes again. But honestly? I loved it.

Statue of Liberty
Getting out on the water and seeing the Statue of Liberty in person was pretty damn cool. Pictures are great, but there is something different about actually being there and looking up at her. And the adventure didn’t stop with Statue of Liberty. We also got to meet up with some very friendly (or at least very interested) seagulls. Because apparently even the birds wanted to be part of my New York experience.

We went through a museum, learned some history, and then came across something I wasn’t expecting…A giant foot. And….naturally, I had to sit on it. Because when you find a large foot, the obvious thing to do is sit on it and take a picture. Right?

Then Came New York City
After the Statue of Liberty, it was time to explore New York City. And let me just say…I loved Central Park. There is something pretty amazing about being surrounded by all that green space while knowing you’re smack in the middle of one of the busiest cities in the country. And….you should be proud of me. I walked up a rock and didn’t fall. Yes, this deserves its own paragraph. I climbed up a rock. I stayed upright. Nobody had to call an ambulance. I’m counting that as a major travel accomplishment.

Times Square Was… A Lot
Then we made our way to Times Square. And…Holy shit. There are people EVERYWHERE. Cops on horses. People dressed in costumes. People singing. People dancing. Bright lights. Giant screens. Tourists. More people. It was chaotic. It was loud. It was completely ridiculous. And I loved it.

But my favorite part? The Naked Cowboy. Yep. That Naked Cowboy. Because he came up to me…and tapped my belly. LOL! Of course he did. I mean, I’m not saying that’s the traditional New York City tourist experience, but it certainly became my New York City tourist experience. While I don’t have a pic of him tapping my belly I was taking a video – look at the video at the bottom of this post LOL. Honestly, I’m still laughing about it.

Even the Rain Couldn’t Ruin It
It did rain for part of the day, because apparently the weather wanted to join in on the whole Stressie Luck thing. But you know what? It didn’t matter – the Statue of Liberty was amazing. Central Park was beautiful. Times Square was completely insane. I sat on a giant foot, survived climbing a rock, hung out with seagulls, and apparently got my belly tapped by the Naked Cowboy. I’d say that’s a pretty successful New York City adventure.

And yes…I will definitely go back. There is still way too much of New York City that I haven’t seen, and I’m already thinking about all the pictures and videos I’m going to take next time. Shocking, I know.
