A casual 2-hour drive turned into one of those “how the hell is this my life?” kind of days – meeting up with blogger friends, chasing geocaches, learning about genius-level inventions, and somehow… spotting a Bigfoot butt on the side of the road. Yep. Buckle up.

A Small World Moment (With Big Personality)
I originally met Kristy (https://mytowntravels.com/) during my October 2025 Colorado trip (shoutout to freezing my ass off but making lifelong friends). Somewhere between altitude struggles and questionable survival choices, we connected.
And while in Colorado I find out she’s friends with Tonya (http://daytripsinohio.com/)—who I’ve known for YEARS. Excuse me, universe… what?
Three bloggers. Different paths. Same chaotic energy. And we finally meet up in one place: Milan Ohio.
Staying Somewhere That Gets You
I arrived a day early and I stayed at the absolutely charming Angel Welcome Bed and Breakfast.
The owners? Gems. The vibe? Cozy perfection. The acceptance? Immediate. No weird looks. No judgment. Just a warm welcome, a comfy room, and a breakfast that was amazing.
You know when a place just lets you be your full, unfiltered self? Yeah. That.

Thursday = Geocaching + Random Humans Being Awesome
Of course I couldn’t just arrive like a normal person. Nope. I immediately went geocaching. While digging around like a mildly suspicious adult on a sidewalk, a family noticed me and asked what I was doing. Instead of calling the authorities, they joined in.
Plot twist: the dad found the cache. Honestly? Team effort. I’ll allow it.
Friday = Genius, Peacocks & Unexpected Education
Met up with Tonya and Kristy and headed to the Thomas Edison Birthplace Museum. First of all, yes—that Edison. The lightbulb guy. Casual overachiever.
But the real MVP? Operations Director Cindi Rospert, who didn’t just drop knowledge bombs about Edison—she also introduced us to a peacock.
Because obviously that’s part of the historical experience now. 🦚
Was it educational? Yes. Was it slightly chaotic? Also yes. Did I learn things AND get distracted by a bird? 100%.

Guess Where? No Seriously… Guess.
Then came the wildcard: Guess Where Trips. If you’ve never done one of these, it’s basically a mystery road trip where you don’t know your stops ahead of time. Which is perfect if you enjoy surprises and mild confusion.
Our adventure included: Hiking through a park (nature, but make it unpredictable), A winery stop (because balance), And… random roadside chaos

Including—but not limited to—a Bigfoot butt sighting. Let me be clear: This was NOT part of the itinerary. This was just… Ohio being Ohio.

The Real Highlight
Sure, we did things. Saw stuff. Learned things. But the best part? Realizing how freaking small the world is—and how lucky I am to have found my kind of people in completely different places.
Kristy. Tonya. Me. Different stories, same vibe, zero filters. And honestly? That’s the kind of magic you can’t plan.
And if you ever see a Bigfoot butt on the side of the road? Take the picture. Trust me.
