How I Ended up on an Adventure to Pittsburgh

When I found out that Bloggycon was going to be Thursday – Sunday this year (and I typically travel a day early to have a day to explore), my brain immediately went to I should take the whole week off!

But where do I go for the extra days? Reached out to Friends on Facebook and based on the comments landed on an adventure to Pittsburgh. Bonus – I would get to see 2 friends I hadn’t seen in years.

From the Botanical Garden, the Strip District, the Duquesne Incline and more – it was truly an amazing trip.

The Best Pet Costume Ideas Sometimes Require Making them by Hand

A few weeks earlier I had gone into a group chat and asked friends for ideas for matching costumes for Maizie and me. The suggestions were amazing, and it was so hard for me to choose one.

Over the years we have traveled a lot.  Sometimes relatively locally within a few hours of home, and sometimes to the other side of the country (or even to other countries!). Over time I have discovered there are activities you can do (almost) anywhere.

I’m a planner and for every trip our family makes (or ones I do solo!), I create a loose itinerary of the things to do during the commute to our ultimate destination, as well as local highlights we might want to experience.

Every now and again the locations we visit are a little light on the entertainment. But there are a handful of things I keep on my reserve list that you can do just about anywhere. Read on for my favorites.
