BloggyCon 2024: A Weekend of Inspiration and Spooky Fun

Bloggycon is a yearly event for me, and each year I try to explore more of Sandusky, This year (2024) Bloggycon was reimagined and it included a welcome party in Sandusky with multiple locations to visit and explore. Add in Halloweekends at Cedar Point and it was a perfect weekend of Inspiration and Spooky fun. If you have a blog, or might be interested in Bloggycon in the future read on for my 2024 experience.

The Welcome Party in Sandusky

Part of Bloggycon reimagined was a welcome party in Sandusky where my first stop was the Shores and Islands Ohio Welcome Center (thank you for the waffles, they were amazing!), then the Merry Go Round Museum.

I had been to the Merry Go Round Museum before, but I still enjoyed seeing the antique Carousel figures and watching the carvers in action. But the best part? This time I got to ride the fully restored Allan Herschell Carousel. Am I to old to have fun on a carousel? NO. I loved it.

Then on to the hard hat tour of the Sandusky State Theatre (thank you to Fireland Adventure Tours for the downtown shuttle). The theater was greatly impacted by a storm in 2020. I loved the story of the theaters history, what happened in 2020 and the way they are doing the renovation. It is amazing already and I can’t wait to see it completed.

Two Full Days of Bloggycon Sessions

The next morning the sessions began. While I have always loved and learned amazing things at Bloggycon, I have to say that this year was one of the best for not just learning but for the encouragement I needed.

The sessions included everything from email marketing, how to pitch, the right (legal) way to use AI, converting your life to content, and more. Each session was packed with wisdom, and gave me the encouragement that I needed to continue moving forward.

The message that resonated with me the most? Stop worrying about perfection and be your authentic self. Will this include more F words? Maybe. My blog should reflect who I am. Every unapologetic curse filled sentence of it.

Halloweekends – Spooky Fun

After the Bloggycon sessions it was time to enjoy some Spooky fun at Cedar Point for Halloweekends. From the stage performances to the Outdoor Scare Zones, good luck dodging the ghosts and ghouls. The lines for the Haunted Houses and other attractions are pretty long, but worth it if you want even more spooky stuff.

Leaving after a Weekend of Learning and Fun

As the weekend came to a close, I left Sandusky with my mind buzzing with ideas. Bloggycon was exactly what I needed to get back on track. No more holding back. Moving forward I will put in more effort to make my blog unapologetically me….F-words and all.

Are you a blogger and/or interested in Blogging? If so I would highly recommend Bloggycon – for the sessions, the networking and the time with your family at Cedar Point. Interested in Bloggycon 2025? Go to the FAQ page of the Bloggycon website and sign up for updates.
