Respect. There is more than one type of respect, and sometimes people get them confused. Two types immediately come to my mind:
The first, “polite or kind regard; consideration”, everyone should have for each other.
The other type of respect “an attitude of deference, admiration or esteem; regard”, is earned. You earn it by having integrity. By being strong and being honest, and always doing the right thing even when it’s hard. By holding your head high and always being the best version of yourself you can be.
You earn it by never expecting things to be handed to you, but instead working hard for the things that you have. By celebrating others and giving them credit for their successes (rather than taking the credit for yourself)
You can’t steal this type of respect. You can’t order it, or force it. Those that try to force it (or simply expect it without earning it) get something alright…but it isn’t respect.
Do the right thing. Always.=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
